Cynthia-Reeves presents 'Sense of Place,' featuring the art of seven contemporary photographers. The exhibition opens on Thursday evening, June 24th, with a reception open to the public from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., and will run through August 20th. The cast of YO GABBA GABBA! joins MGMT above the Radio City Music Hall's marquee after MGMT's two sold-out shows onon August 17 and 18.

Georgia Engel along with Michael Park will join the previously announced Linus Roache and Heather Burns in the World-Premiere of Will Eno's play MIDDLETOWN, which begins previews at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) on October 13th with opening night set for Wednesday, November 3rd. Ken Rus Schmoll directs.

The North Shore Opera Hour will present a staged production of Peter Brook's adaptation of Bizet's opera Carmen on August 22 at 7:30pm at the Skokie Theatre. Brook's version captures the fundamental soul of Bizet's opera by focusing on the four main characters; Carmen, Don Jose, Micaela and Escamillo. 'La Tragédie de Carmen' won the 1984 special Tony Award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theatre. The basic elements of this tragedy are still intact, offering familiar arias and duets.

Multi-talented comedian, actor, singer and writer Rodney Carrington returns to the Hollywood Theatre at MGM Grand December 6 - 11, performing at 10 p.m. nightly. The New York Russian Jewish Youth Council (NYRJYC) kicks off the fall season on Thursday, September 2nd at 7PM with Eclectic Beat Box. The event will be at Soiree (199 Bowery St.) and features live musical performances, hip Israeli landscapes and some of the best bands the city has to offer. Tickets are $10; all proceeds from the event will go to benefit Sunrise Lake Camp, a residential summer camp in Cold Spring, New York that provides programming to children afflicted with cancer.

The Brooklyn Book Festival will be held Friday, September 10th to Sunday, September 12th. The Brooklyn Book Festival showcases more than 200 national and international authors in readings and panel discussions as well as 175 booksellers, publishers, presses and organizations in an outdoor literary marketplace. Also, poet John Ashbery will accept the 'BoBi' award on Saturday at the Festival Gala.

Davidson Community Center will hold auditions for actors and actresses in grades 6th through 12th for their production, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, on August 22nd and 23rd. The auditions on the 22nd will be at 2PM and the auditions on the 23rd will be at 7PM. Auditionees should arrive no later than 3PM and 8PM on each day, respectively. Both will be held at the Armour Street Theatre (307 Armour St., Davidson).

Lyric Theatre in Oklahoma City begins classes for its Lyric Theatre Academy on August 23rd. The Civic Center of Greater Des Moines announces tickets for the upcoming 9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL tour will go on sale on Friday, August 27th at 10AM. Starting in October, the New Museum (235 Bowery) will present two contemporary thematic group exhibitions: 'The Last Newspaper' and 'Free.' From October 6th to January 9th, 'The Last Newspaper' will be presented on the third through fifth floors. 'Free' will be located on the second floor from October 20th to January 23rd.

The 5th Annual FringeNYC Encore Series announces that it will be held September 9th through the 26th at the Lucille Lortel Theater and The Players Theatre. The FringeNYC Encores Series is an annual showcase some of the critically acclaimed and most crowd-pleasing shows from the 2010 New York International Fringe Festival.
