The English Theatre of Hamburg is now casting for Terence Frisby's comedy Funny About Love, to be directed by Robert Rumpf.

The premiere event of the community theatre season - The Elly Awards - will be held on Sunday, September 25 at the Crest Theatre located at 1013 K Street in downtown Sacramento from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. Youth Awards will begin at 6pm and Adult Awards will begin at 8pm. This elegant event will honor the best and brightest in local and regional community theatre. Actors, designers and directors will announce the names of over 80 winners who will receive engraved plaques! Musical production numbers will be performed by Elly-nominated theatres including the now-defunct Civic Theatre West, Davis Musical Theatre Company, Runaway Stage Productions, and The Acting Company. This years' featured orchestra is from Rio Americano High School.

HOPE IN CHAOS, a new play written by 9/11 relief worker, Heather McCuen which enjoyed a run at the Mainline Theatre Montreal in 2010, has been playing in New York City as part of the Tenth Anniversary Memorial Commemorations of 9/11. It will close on September 10, 2011 at the Richmond Shepard Theatre.

Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's Professional Theatre Company, is pleased to announce the 25th Anniversary MainStage Season. Between November 2011 and May 2012, MTC MainStage will present three fully-staged professional productions, each running for three weeks: 'Cabaret,' 'Almost, Maine' and 'I Left My Heart: A Salute to the Music of Tony Bennett.'
