Cox Music & Movies to Present 'Shrek' and Live Music by Funk Trek 8/19

By: Aug. 11, 2011

Omaha Performing Arts brings back a cherished Omaha event - Cox Music & Movies! Enjoy live music from some of the area's hottest bands followed by a classic movie, all in the Holland Center East Lawn.

Shrek and Funk Trek will be presented on Friday, August 19, 2011.  Pre-made picnic baskets for pick-up must be reserved by Wednesday, August 17, 2011.

Shrek loses his cherished peace and quiet when the ruler of Duloc, Lord Farquaad, exiles all the fairytale beings to the swamp where he lives. Shrek goes to Lord Farquaad and convinces him to take back the fairytale beings. Farquaad reluctantly accepts-under one condition: Shrek must first find the beautiful Princess Fiona, who will become Farquaad's bride. So, Shrek and his newfound friend, Donkey, set out on a quest.

Funk Trek, a nine-piece band, will perform its high-energy, funk show before you head to the swamp with Shrek and Donkey.
