Edinburgh International Film Festival Announces WinnersJune 30, 2012The 66th Edinburgh International Film Festival announced the winners of its awards today at a prestigious ceremony held at Filmhouse, hosted by Grant Lauchlan of STV Moviejuice. Scottish stars presenting awards included Kate Dickie and Jury member Ewen Bremner. The ceremony took place ahead of the Closing Night Gala of the European premiere of BRAVE which closes the 12-day Festival.
Dance, Theatre, Music, Art Are Most Successful Kickstarter ProjectsJune 30, 2012The 'crowd fundraising' site Kickstarter has just released is site statistics: 25,407 projects have been funded successfully on Kickstarter - and of those, 7,493 were music-related, 6,759 were film and video projects, 2,566 were art, and 1,921 were theater, amounting to almost three-quarters of all successful campaigns and totalling to over $100 million.
THE NORMAL HEART Tour Limited to Washington and San FranciscoJune 30, 2012THE NORMAL HEART, which ran a limited run on Broadway last year, is currently playing Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., which was originally reported to be the opening stop on a tour. The Chicago Tribune revealed in a recent article, however, that the tour plans have been limited to the already announced engagements: Arena Stage, where it will run through July 29, and A.C.T. in San Francisco.
