The New Theatre Project will offer its second world premiere by playwright Kevin Kautzman at the Mix. After the huge audience success of If You Start a Fire [Be Prepared to Burn], TNTP is eager to showcase more work by Kautzman. "His plays are magical," says Artistic Director Keith Paul Medelis, "There is a delicious theatricality and poetry to all of them that makes them a treat for any company. We are very happy to serve these plays with their first outing."

November 1-3, 2012, 8:00 p.m.: Guest conductor Asher Fisch will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in Richard Strauss's Death and Transfiguration and excerpts from Wagner's Die Meistersinger. Pianist Stewart Goodyear will join the Orchestra for Mozart's Rondo in D Major and Piano Concerto No. 24.

Rain Pryor, actress, singer, comedian, director and author of Jokes My Father Never Taught Me, Life Love and Loss with Richard Pryor, has signed on as lead producer of BROKE WIDE OPEN. The off-broadway production stars spoken-word artist Rock WILK, who has turned the emotionally-charged search for his biological mother into an autobiographical solo play, punctuated by his own hip-hop compositions.

My Three Angels is set in French Guiana on Christmas day where the temperature has graciously dropped to 104 degrees. Three amiable convicts are employed as roofers at Ducotel's General Store. The roof winds up being the least of the Ducotel family's trouble. On the way from France are an evil-minded cousin and his cold-blooded nephew, who jilted the Ducotel's daughter for an heiress. The three convicts are passionate believers in true justice, and decide it's their job to take the visitors on. Possessing every criminal art and penal grace, they set matters right in this captivating and comedic holiday treasure.

Los Angeles-based songwriter Ben Caron is releasing another EP on his way to a fully fan-funded debut album. Love Me Too, which will be released on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, is the third installment of new music from the artist. Caron has been recording his album in three-song segments, which have all been paid for through donations from his growing sphere of fans through a blog he set up for just this purpose. He has been building his fan base and testing the songs at performances across Southern California. In Los Angeles, he is a regular performer and producer at Rockwell: Table and Stage, where he held residence in May as well as performing sold-out shows at Bar Lubitsch and M Bar.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's main building at Fifth Avenue and 82nd Street will reopen to the public on Wednesday, October 31, from noon to 5:30 p.m. Admission will be free to the public on Wednesday. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, November 1.

Beck Center is located on the west end of Lakewood at 17801 Detroit Avenue. The Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO) will showcase one of its own alumni in its concert at the Capitol Theatre on November 11. Violinist Siwoo Kim, who graduated from the CSYO program in 2008, will be featured on Brahms' Violin Concert in D Major. Hailing from Westerville, Kim graduated from Julliard in May 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in music, and is continuing on at the prestigious school to pursue a Master's Degree. The concert program will also include Wagner's Overture to Die Meistersingers and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 5 in D Major ("Reformation"). CSO Associate Conductor Peter Stafford Wilson will conduct.

Two recipients have been selected from the shortlist of six entries to receive the Richard Burton Award for Playwriting, created by Sally Burton in association with Black Swan State Theatre Company. These two writers have been awarded commissions worth $15,000 each. With a prize pool of $30,000, the Richard Burton Award for Playwriting is one of the richest in Australia.
