The Guthrie Theater today announced the new "30 Below" ticket program for audience members 30 years old and younger that will enable them to buy tickets at the same price as the public rush line on the day of any particular performance without having to wait in line. Depending on the show and the night of the week, "30 Below" patrons will be able to purchase individual tickets at prices as low as $15. Additionally, patrons taking part in "30 Below" can buy up to three additional tickets for accompanying parties not in the program.

Country music chart-toppers Restless Heart will perform songs of the season and timeless hits at the Suncoast Showroom, December 1 and 2.

Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts presents “A Midsummer Night's Dream,' by William Shakespeare. The production will run from Nov. 14-18 in the Browning Mainstage Theatre of Webster University's Loretto-Hilton Center, 130 Edgar Road. The Museum of Modern Art announces a selection of films and special guests from the 2012 lineup of The Contenders, MoMA's annual end-of-the-year series that offers filmgoers the opportunity to see a wide spectrum of influential and innovative films made within the last 12 months, running October 31, 2012, through January 14, 2013, in The Roy and Niuta Titus Theaters (except where noted below).

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre's leadership, Executive Director Carlo Scandiuzzi and Artistic Director Kurt Beattie, have announced a new position, hiring critically acclaimed director John Langs as the new Associate Artistic Director. Langs has garnered a reputation as a determined and innovative freelance artist, who since 2004 has established an ongoing relationship with Seattle's theatre community. He recently directed The Dumb Waiter and Celebration for ACT's Pinter Festival and will direct this holiday season's annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted by Gregory Falls. In January 2013, he will begin his full-time staff post and also direct Chekhov's The Seagull for ACT's Central Heating Lab, followed by the mainstage offering of Will Eno's Middletown in the fall. Langs' production of Antony and Cleopatra with Seattle Shakespeare Company opens this Friday.

Signature Theatre (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) has announced that performances begin tonight at 7:30 p.m. for THE PIANO LESSON by August Wilson and directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson. The production, which has already announced a 1-week extension, runs from October 31 through December 16 and opens November 18 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Hurricane Sandy has caused the cancellation of much of New York's theatre over the past few days. While most shows on Broadway are returning to their normal performance schedules beginning today, many of the city's off-Broadway and off-off-Broadway theatres are still struggling. Casting is announced for Westport Country Playhouse's Script in Hand playreading of "Over the River and Through the Woods" by Tony Award-winning playwright Joe DiPietro, a comedy about a single, Italian-American guy who visits his beloved, though annoying, grandparents every Sunday for dinner. Scheduled for one-night-only on Monday, November 12, 7 p.m., the cast includes Matthew Amendt, Nicole Lowrance, David Marguiles, Frances Sternhagen, Maria Tucci, and Lenny Wolpe. Director is Anne Keefe, Playhouse artistic advisor.

The Public Theater has released a statement reads that 'as of noon today, October 31, The Public Theater is still without power. The building remains closed, including the box office and administrative offices. Our online ticketing, email, and phone systems are down.'

The new Broadway production of the Tony Award winning play The Heiress began previews on October 6th. Though Hurricane Sandy caused many Broadway closures over the past several days, the show will open tomorrow night as scheduled.

On November 8, maestro Julian Wachner - Director of Music and the Arts for Trinity Wall Street - returns to lead the 13th annual VOX festival at the Skirball Center in New York's Greenwich Village. Described by the New York Times as an "invaluable showcase," VOX is the New York City Opera's workshop for previously unproduced contemporary American opera. As this season's conductor, Wachner will direct soloists and members of the NYC Opera Orchestra in selections from six new works chosen to highlight the eclectic landscape of American opera, from composers John Zorn, Moto Osada, Christopher Weiss, Evan Meier, James Stepleton, and Osnat Netzer.
