Chicago's Pravda Records is proud to announce the signing of former Trip Shakespeare leader Matt Wilson & his Orchestra and will be releasing the ensemble's full-length debut When I Was a Writer March 20, 2020 preceded by the release of the title track on January 17 and the follow up single 'Come To Nothing' February 21.

 The filming of Equinox has just begun - the new Netflix original series is based on the acclaimed podcast Equinox 1985. The cast includes Danica Curcic (The Bridge, Warrior), Viola Martinsen (When the Dust settles), Lars Brygmann (Dichte) and Hanne Hedelund (Borgen). The six-part series is created by Tea Lindeburg, produced by Dorthe Riis Lauridsen and executive produced by Piv Bernth and Apple Tree Productions.

Eve Plumb will be back to star in Generation Renovation, a pilot set to air on Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 11 p.m. ET/PT. In the pilot, she teams up with preservationist Brett Waterman, star of DIY Network's Restored, and her husband and renovation partner Ken Pace to modernize dilapidated cabins and cottages that have been in families for generations. As Eve, Brett and Ken transform the well-loved but worn properties, they also give a nod to the homes' rich histories and ensure they will be enjoyed by future generations to come.

Brooklyn based duo Sufis have announced that they will be releasing a new album in 2020 on Burger Records. The album Double Exposure is Sufis third release with Burger and will be available as a limited run cassette tape and streaming on all major platforms January 24th. The album announcement is accompanied by the release of two tracks from the album “Outta My Mind” and “5 AM”.

Have Mercy has announced their final tour will take place early next year. With support from Selfish Things, Fredo Disco and Young Culture, the tour will kick off in Boston, MA on February 5th and travel across the United States before wrapping up in the band's hometown of Baltimore, MD for a very special show on March 20th. Tickets for all dates will go on sale this Friday, December 20th at 12:00pm ET.

The Metal Hall of Fame has announced that the 2020 Annual Metal Hall of Fame Celebrity Charity Gala will be filmed live for Amazon Prime Movies. Hard Rock and Heavy Metal fans in attendance will be featured in the filming, which will take place January 15, 2020, at the Marriott Delta Garden Grove, in Anaheim CA. The World Premier will be aired in early 2020 on Amazon Prime, to over 100 Million viewers.

California roots ensemble Dustbowl Revival will perform at the 1st Annual Irvington Folk Festival at the Irvington Theater on February 1 in support of their new album Is It You, Is It Me out January 31 via Thirty Tigers. Named 'Best Live Band in LA' by LA Weekly, Dustbowl Revival is notorious for flooring audiences with their infectious live performances. The USC Libraries named the finalists for the 32nd-annual USC Libraries Scripter Award, which honors the year's most accomplished film and television adaptations, as well as the works on which they are based.

Letitia VanSant's entrancing new album Circadian is powerful and simple, harkening back to a time not too long ago when the lines between folk-singer, storyteller, and activist were not just blurred, but nearly nonexistent. In our modern age of categories and brands and sound bites, the aforementioned renaissance women and men have seemingly fallen through the cracks or have been pigeonholed into one role or the other. Enter Circadian, out February 21, and VanSant, a massively honest singer-songwriter tracing political realities to their spiritual roots. Yesterday, The Boot premiered “Something Real” and its accompanying music video, filmed on the Chesapeake Bay near VanSant's grandfather's old house with VanSant's friends and giant dog in tow. The song came to VanSant at a moment when she was feeling cynical about music and life in general. “I was at Kerrville Folk Festival not long after the death of a beloved songwriter named Jimmy LaFave,” says VanSant. “And although I never met him, I was amazed to feel how much his energy was still moving through the world as people sang his songs around campfires.” VanSant allowed her cloud of pessimism to blow over and found a new driving force; the miracle that we're alive and that we're so fortunate to gather with friends to create and sing songs in any form. “So I created the video with that kind of joy in mind.” Listen to “Something Real” here.

Focus Features is set to partner with writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson on his untitled new film.  Anderson and Focus Features collaborated on his last feature Phantom Thread, which garnered 6 Academy Award® nominations including Best Picture, Director for Anderson, Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis, Supporting Actress for Lesley Manville, Score for Jonny Greenwood and Costume Design for Mark Bridges, which he went on to win.  Longtime collaborators JoAnne Sellar and Daniel Lupi will produce this new project along with Anderson.
