Today, the Iowa-born, Nashville-based singer and songwriter Hailey Whitters announced her highly anticipated new album The Dream will be released on February 28, 2020. The announcement follows Whitters' banner 2019 touring with Maren Morris, Brent Cobb, and Lori McKenna (who co-wrote three songs on The Dream), along with being named one of SiriusXM and Pandora's Artists To Watch 2020 and her single 'Ten Year Town' landing at #2 on Rolling Stone's '25 Best Country and Americana Songs of 2019' list. 

GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, announced today the nominees for the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards. The GLAAD Media Awards honor media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues. The 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards are presented by Gilead, Hyundai, and Ketel One Family-Made Vodka.

The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) Publicists have announced the nominees for the Maxwell Weinberg Award for Motion Picture Publicity Campaign to be presented at the  57th Annual ICG Publicists Awards on Friday, February 7, 2020, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. The award honors active members working on motion pictures whose achievements in publicity and promotion during the previous calendar year are deemed outstanding. More than 800 industry leaders are expected to attend this year's luncheon, which traditionally occurs the week leading up to the Academy Awards®. The Recording Academy® has confirmed its first slate of performers for the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards®. Set to take the stage on Music's Biggest Night® are 2020 MusiCares Person of the Year® Aerosmith, who will perform a medley of some of their legendary hits; first-time nominee breakout stars Billie Eilish and Lizzo will each make their GRAMMY stage debuts; and powerhouse artists Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani will take the GRAMMY stage together for the first time. BBC One announces a magical new commission, Fantastic Beasts: A Natural History (w/t). Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) will release his fourth studio album, The Slow Rush on February 14 (Interscope), and today he releases the single, “Lost In Yesterday.” “Lost In Yesterday,” is a deep dive into the addictive nature of nostalgia propelled by loopy, driving disco. An examination of time's distorting effect on memories, on “Lost In Yesterday,” Parker realizes that even the most disdainful times can take on a rosy tinge the further they recede in the rearview. Award-winning producer Rob Graves will release an album of original piano songs based on improvisations, entitled Solstice, slated for February 28th, 2020. The album contains sixteen tracks, including three orchestral arrangements.

Veteran producer Effie T. Brown (Dear White People, Project Greenlight, Real Women Have Curves) has been named the new CEO of Gamechanger, which launched in 2013 as the first film financing fund by and for women. Brown is broadening the fund's scope to include projects by and about people of color, LGBTQ+ and people with disabilities. Carrigan Chet Shields, accomplished piano player and member of the Scooter Brown Band, died on December 30, 2019. Born on October 22, 1989 in Pocatello, Idaho to Clint and Brenda Shields, Carrigan grew up in a musical family, picking up the talent immediately. He excelled in a variety of instruments including drums, but found his passion sitting at a piano. His final performance on December 28 was on the Grand Ole Opry at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
