What did our critic think of HADESTOWN at Providence Performing Art Center?

What did our critic think of CROSSWORDS at AS220 Blackbox? How well do we know really know our significant other?  Really really know them? Those doubts take center stage in this wonderful World Premiere Production of A.J. Rose's Crosswords at AS220's Black Box Theater.

The usher simply whispered “Enjoy the magic,” as we walked into the 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' production at the Providence Performing Arts Center this past Wednesday. The wife (Harry Potter Lover-read all the books 2-3 times) smiled while I (never read the books but saw a movie or two) pondered the statement and moment.

The Wilbury Theatre  kicked off its 2025-2026 season with the World Premiere of 'From Here to Where'-part Poet Jam, part Improvised ensemble performance, part reckoning with the world around us and so much more!

Theatre By The Sea wrapped up its 92nd season with the hip-swaying, leg-lunging Elvis bio-musical Heartbreak Hotel that had the near sell-out crowd dancing and strutting down their own memory lane of the King of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley.

Whether you’re one of those who’s seen it a number of times in its 30-year run or just witnessing it for the very first time, like me, there’s a ton to love about this energetic musical and dance spectacular.  “Riverdance 30-The New Generation” does an incredible job of working to make all theatre-goers happy, combining some of the great history of the three decades of performances along with some new energy and dances to keep everything so fresh.

What did our critic think of FAT HAM at Wilbury Theatre Group?

If you've ever felt left out or not able to connect with a particular group, unable to socialize or detested being touched, Burbage's 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' will hit many personal cords.

As a huge fan of Mary's Shelley's 1818 'Frankenstein' book, this world premiere production of 'The People vs. Frankenstein' based on the book written by by Nicola Cuti and Kevin M. Glover(Glover was at the performance!) peaked my interest.

The actors are typically switched up each Saturday throughout the 12-week run.  This particular performance featured seven hysterical actors including Cathleen Carr, making her second Whodunit performance; Madeline England making her third performance as well as newbie Whodunits Jan Krause Green, Jessamyn LeClair, Tina Moore, Edwin O'Connor and Ryan Sekac.

While I may have been one of the few in the audience who had never seen Hamilton before-you can tell by the amount of people who sing along to just about every song-it was still the rarest of musicals, a combination of history and the best jazz, hip-hop and R&B music ever combined.

Trinity Rep’s 48th rendition of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” hit the stage this week and for the first time in its nearly golden anniversary run of the plays performance, it was held at the Providence Performing Arts Center.

When I heard Burbage had added a special Halloween show that they said was 'largely inspired by classic horror anthologies like Creepshow, Tales from the Crypt, and of course, Are You Afraid of the Dark?' how can you not attend?  And this show did not disappoint.

The National Tour of 'A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical' kicked off last night at the Providence Performing Arts Center with the crowd eating up the classics like 'Sweet Caroline', 'Cracklin' Rosie' and 'Forever in Blue Jeans' to name a scant few.

The Attleboro Community Theatre kicked off its 67th season in style with Agatha Christie's 'The Mousetrap', a play said to be the longest running play of any kind ever, and you can see why.
