Artistic Directors Steve Marmion and Max Roberts today announce the full cast for their joint new writing project UTOPIA, which is making its world premiere at Live Theatre on Thursday 31 May, before transferring to Soho Theatre on Wednesday 20 June, with opening night on Thursday 21 June. UTOPIA will star: Tobi Bakare (Greenland National Theatre; Crawling In The Dark Almeida Theatre and Gone Too Far, Royal Court Theatre); Laura Elphinstone (Top Girls, Chichester Festival Theatre/Trafalgar Studios; A Month in the Country, Chichester Festival Theatre and the film adaptation of The History Boys); Rufus Hound making his theatre debut, is most well-known for his regular team captainship on Argumental, Celebrity Juice, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Never Mind The Buzzcocks; Pamela Miles (Darker Shores, Hampstead Theatre; Pygmalion, Theatre Royal Bath/Old Vic London and Lone Star Mark Three, Salisbury Playhouse); also making her stage debut Sophia Myles who is most well-known for her leading roles in film and TV including Tristan and Isolde and Spooks and David Whitaker one of the founders of Live Theatre, Newcastle, his theatre credits include The Pitmen Painters (Live Theatre/National Theatre/Broadway and West End) plus extensive credits for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Donmar Warehouse.

Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music returns to Arts Centre Melbourne, State Theatre for three performances, Friday 20 & Saturday 21 July, 2012 7:30pm and a family friendly Matinee on Saturday 21 July at 1pm. The effervescent Chelsea Plumley returns to hosting duties to guide the audience through an interactive experience and tribute to the very unique film The Sound of Music.

Theatre Artist's Studio, the Valley's only Equity Member Project Code theatre, will present a special event on Sunday, May 13, in celebration of Mother's Day. A Wicked Gala, a 'Wickedly Magical Evening in Oz,' takes place on Saturday, May 19, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Sacramento Convention Center Ballroom, 1400 J Street in Sacramento, will be transformed for the evening into the "Oz Dust Ballroom," themed after the hit Broadway show Wicked, which begins performances at Community Center Theater on May 23.

Blackwood Players Inc, by arrangement with David Spicer Productions, will present CRAZY CAPERS, DODGY DEALS, written by Chris Goy with additional material by Dave Ross, in a production directed by James Barbary from Friday May 18 to June 2nd at Blackwood 21, 21 Coromandel Parade, Blackwood, SA.

Cutting Ball Theater has announced that it will add an additional four performances of its current hit production of TENDERLOIN, a World Premiere about the people and places in Cutting Ball Theater's neighborhood. Written by Annie Elias, with theater documentarians Tristan Cunningham, Siobhan Doherty, Rebecca Frank, Michael Uy Kelly, Leigh Shaw, and David Sinaiko (with additional writing by David Westley Skillman), and directed by Elias, TENDERLOIN plays now through June 3 (added performances: Thursday, May 31, 7:30pm; Friday, June 1, 8pm; Saturday, June 2, 8pm; Sunday, June 3, 5pm).

From truck beds to basements to coffee shops and rooftops, William Shakespeare's words will electrify the city with the 3rd annual Shake 38 beginning on Friday, May 18, and culminating with the Bard's preview performance of "Othello" on Wednesday, May 23 at Shakespeare Glen in Forest Park. "Othello" is the Shakespeare Festival St. Louis' 12th annual production of free theater in an outdoor setting at the park.

Joining Danny DeVito and Richard Griffiths as the ageing vaudevillian team Willie Clark and Al Lewis in Neil Simon's award-winning comedy The Sunshine Boys are Rebecca Blackstone (Miss MacKintosh), Nick Blakeley (Eddie), Peter Cadden (Voice of TV Director), Johnnie Fiori (Registered Nurse), Adam Levy (Ben Silverman) and William Maxwell (Patient). The Palace Theatre has announced it is a recipient of a pledge commitment for $10,000 per year over the next three years toward its Second Century Campaign designed to fund its capital campaign. The fund will be used for much needed theatre improvements and safety upgrades.

Ten schools across the nation have been selected for the second phase (Fall, 2012) of 'NBC's 'Smash': Make a Musical.' The philanthropic initiative, sponsored by NBC's hit musical drama series 'Smash' and administered by iTheatrics' Junior Theater Project, works with under-served schools across the country to stage their own productions and implement self-sustaining theater programs.

Gladstone Parks & Recreation will host the first performance in the "June Tune Series" on Tuesday, June 5th at the Gladstone Amphitheatre beginning at 7:30 p.m. The first performance of the group known as "Cherry Bomb" was so explosive they were asked to dazzle us again this year.

Art Gallery Tours New York has announced a Skyscrapers gallery tour in Midtown on May 19 at 1:00 PM. The tour will meet at 41 E. 57th St. at Madison Ave. (Fuller Building), and costs $20.

B. Someday Productions' will present the final show of its season, SUBURBAN MOTEL - two plays in repertory by Canadian playwright, George F Walker. The plays, FEATURING LORETTA and THE END OF CIVILIZATION will play the entire month of June at Walking Fish Theatre. This is the most ambitious and largest production the "scrappy" B. Someday theatre company has undertaken. Dates for the entire production run June 3-30, 2012.

The Whidbey Island Center for the Arts has announced four events for this coming summer including the play FROST NIXON by Peter Morgan.

Anne Berlin will present a staged reading of LA STREGA, directed by Noah Racey, as part of the 4th Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity where she is a returning artist. The Festivity will take place at 1pm on June 6 at The Theatres at 45 Bleecker in New York City.

STEEL MAGNOLIAS by Robert Harling will open May 18-26 at The Wilton Playshop, 15 Lovers Lane, Wilton, CT. Revolving around Truvy's Beauty Parlor in modern-day Louisiana, Steel Magnolias is the story of a close-knit circle of friends who gather there. Filled with humor and heartbreak, these 'steel magnolias' make us laugh and cry as the realities of their lives in tiny Chiquapin Parish unfold.

C venues will operate the India Buildings on Victoria Street for this coming Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2012. One of Edinburgh's best-known A-listed buildings in the heart of the Old Town, India Buildings will operate under the festival name C nova.
