Cate Blanchett and Richard Roxburgh will be joined by the entire original cast of The Present when Sydney Theatre Company's production of Andrew Upton's adaptation of Anton Chekhov's first play opens on Broadway. The limited season commences previews at the Barrymore Theatre on 17 December 2016, opening on 8 January and closing on 19 March 2017. The Tony nominated, rock n' roll megahit, Million Dollar Quartet, opens tonight, September 15, at The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival. The show runs until October 1 at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse as part of the Festival's 2016 season. Based on the Dec. 4, 1956 recording session between Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis, 'Million Dollar Quartet' features over 21 hits by the legendary artists. IF/THEN, the original Broadway musical which reunites composer Tom Kitt, book writer/lyricist Brian Yorkey, and director Michael Greif, the creative team behind the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical, Next to Normal, will play its final performance on tour in Atlanta this weekend. A re-imagined version of the 1921 musical SHUFFLE ALONG, one of the earliest stage hits starring, written and directed by African-Americans, opened on April 28 on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre. The musical nabbed a total of 10 Tony nominations this year, including nods for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Featured Actor and Actress, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Direction, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.
