The CW is on the hunt for its next big hit. It's most successful series, the long-running Supernatural, ends its fifteen year run this season. Another favorite, ​​​​​​​Jane the Virgin, just ended this past season. What will fill The CW's need for another supernatural series and put the team from Jane the Virgin back to work? Developing a ghost-hunting TV series based on the books by Victoria 'V.E.' Schwab.

Fantasy is still a hot commodity, and movie studios continue to look for the next big thing by scouting new book releases and scooping up film rights, often before a book officially hits the shelves. Rena Barron's debut novel KINGDOM OF SOULS only launched this past week on September 19th, but news just broke that actor and producer Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed, Friday Night Lights) just acquired the trilogy through his production company Outlier Society, helmed by Warner Bros. Jordan is set to produce the movie alongside Pouya Shahbazian and Alana Mayo, with Misan Sagay adapting the novel into a screenplay.

Award-winning television series Orphan Black may have ended in 2017 after a successful five-season run, but it still has fans anxious for more. Now, thanks to Serial Box, the series will continue in a new medium -- and you can download the first episode right now for free.

As streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime have become wildly popular, everyone has wanted a piece of the pie. This fall alone, new streaming services will launch from both Disney and Apple. Apple has yet to set an official date for Apple TV+, but it is rumored to be launching in November 2019 and will supposedly cost $9.99 a month.  Trailers have become dropping for what will be available when the service launches, and this week saw the release of Dickinson, an upcoming ten-episode series starring beloved poet Emily Dickinson.

Disney's new streaming network Disney+ is gearing up its arsenal with new content to intrigue and commit subscribers to its latest venture. Due to its recent acquisition of Fox Studios, it has more titles at its fingertips than ever before. Disney has just announced casting for a TV series spin-off of the well-received movie Love, Simon, based on the novel SIMON VS THE HOMOSAPIEN AGENDA by Becky Albertalli.

Last year, the Netflix movie To All the Boys I've Loved Before, based on the book by Jenny Han, premiered to such high ratings that a sequel was instantly greenlit. It is no surprise that the book has been adapted into other mediums several times over the years. This December brings the eighth movie adaptation of the book.
