Neo-Baroque dance-theatre group Company XIV proudly presents the World Premiere of Nutcracker Rouge, a Baroque - Burlesque confection of dance, theatre and sumptuous design. The show is directed, choreographed and conceived by Austin McCormick, with a script adapted and written by Jeff Takacs. Nutcracker Rouge runs from December 10, 2010 to January 9, 2011 in a limited engagement at Company XIV's theatre space, located at 303 Bond Street, between Union & Sackett in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Company XIV is donating 50% of the show's proceeds to the Ali Forney Center in New York City.

Announcing auditions for Ordinary Magic, a new play by William Snow to be produced at VSA North Fourth Theater. Ordinary Magic is based on the life of Alexandra David-Neel, a pioneering French explorer and writer who, in the early part of the 20th century, became the first Westerner to reach Lhasa, the forbidden city of Tibet.

Based on the stories of radio humorist Jean Shepherd and adapted from the hilarious 1983 family holiday film, A Christmas Story: The Musical! follows young Ralphie Parker, as he schemes his way towards the holiday gift of his dreams -- a Red Ryder 200 Shot Carbine Action Air Rifle. With its sparkling original score by Broadway's hottest young composer/lyricist team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, its wicked wit, and its heart of pure gold, A Christmas Story: The Musical! is a yuletide delight for the whole family.

Max McLean, star of THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS at NYC's Westside Theatre, joined WOR Radio's John Gambling and Dr. Joy Browne in raising funds for the Salvation Army and the New York Food Bank in Rockefeller Center on December 2. THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS, the provocative and wickedly witty theatrical adaptation of the C.S. Lewis novel about spiritual warfare from a demon's point of view, will close Jan. 9 after a successful nine-month run at the Westside Theatre, 407 West 43rd Street nearly 300 performances including previews.
