THE BARBED WIRE WALTZ to Debut at Salon Stolz

American vocalist Daniel Neer will present a concert of new songs from his new operetta-in-development, THE BARBED WIRE WALTZ, with music by renowned Viennese operetta composer Robert Stolz, and book, libretto and new english lyrics by Daniel Neer.

The concert, accompanied by Austrian pianist Markus Koropp, has one performance only at Salon Stolz in Graz, Austria, the museum and cultural space dedicated to the famed local composer and conductor Robert Stolz.

THE BARBED WIRE WALTZ tells the fictional story of a successful Austrian conductor and composer before, during, and after the Anschluss of March 1938, and follows the trajectory of his close friends and theater colleagues in the early years of the Holocaust. Using the classic conventions of operetta along with the traditional format of a "Jukebox Musical", the story features the magnificent songs of Robert Stolz to tell a heartfelt, romantic, and poignant story that illuminates this significant intersection of art and political strife.

The concert at Salon Stolz will preview eight songs from the production, with new translations by Neer.

The concert is Wednesday, June 10th at 17:00. Salon Stolz is located on Theodor-Körner-Straße 67, 8010 Graz, Austria.
