Indie Meme Film Festival at AFS Cinema

The 11th Annual Indie Meme Film Festival runs April 22–26 at AFS Cinema, presenting 27 films across narrative features, documentaries, and short films representing 14 countries, with a focus on South Asian and Iranian cinema. The festival opens with Jitank Singh Gurjar's Vimukt (In Search of the Sky), followed by Opening Night feature Shape of Momo, directed by Tribeny Rai with screenwriter Kislay in attendance, and a Centerpiece screening of Ali Asgari's Divine Comedy, with screenwriter Alireza Khatami participating in a post-screening Q&A. The festival closes with Vaishali Sinha's documentary Give It a Shot, with Sinha joining the audience for a discussion. Throughout the week, themes of identity, migration, family, politics, and social change are explored through a curated selection of films from emerging and established filmmakers of the South Asian diaspora.
