The Studebakers Headline TexARTS Cabaret Series

By:

The newest addition to the TexARTS Cabaret Series lineup is The Studebakers, an Austin favorite known for their beautiful vocal blends and swinging harmonies. The Studebakers; made up of members Sharon Maner, Becky Cavanaugh, Jill Montgomery, Randolph Seybold, and Marilyn Rucker; will bring those marvelous melodies from the 1920's, '30's and '40's to the Kam & James Morris Theatre, Saturday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m. The evening will feature such hits as, "Mr. Sandman," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and "Dream a Little Dream of Me."

The Studebakers have been a staple of the Austin music scene for over 20 years and are known for their fresh renditions of the classics made famous by the Andrews Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Armstrong and others. The group recently released their latest CD, "So In Love with the Studebakers."

The performance takes place at the Kam and James Morris Theatre (2300 Lohman's Spur, Austin, TX 78734). Come early for a pre-show happy hour in the TexARTS lounge which offers a full bar. The lounge opens one hour prior to curtain. Tickets for reserved seats range from $30 - $40 and parking is free. For tickets and information call the TexARTS Box Office at 512-852-9079 x101 or visit www.tex-arts.org.
