A celebration of Gwen's new Christmas release, THE FIRST NOEL: JAZZ HYMNS FOR CHRISTMAS, which George Harris of Jazzweekly calls "musical mistletoe." Gwen is joined by the powerhouse musicians and arrangers that helped create the album: Randy Hoexter (piano); Tyrone Jackson (piano, Hammond B3); Micah Cadwell (guitar); Ramon Pooser (bass); and Mike Hinton (drums). Gwen will perform well-known Christmas standards from the album, as well as lesser-known holiday folk songs and even a few surprises.
The newly resurrected CHURCHILL GROUNDS, Atlanta's historic jazz venue, hosts the event. The new CHURCHILL GROUNDS is located in the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Center in Decatur, GA. Food and drink are available, as well as parking on site.
