In Peter Shaffer's hilarious, crowd-pleasing slapstick comedy, several colorful, duplicitous characters stumble around a pitch-black room – all in full view of the audience, who watch the events unfold in full light.
Brindsley, a struggling artist, has "borrowed" his neighbor’s fancy furniture to impress a wealthy art collector and his fiancée's father during a big dinner party. But when a sudden blackout plunges the apartment into darkness, mayhem ensues, and hidden secrets, unexpected guests, and hilariously bad decisions all come to light.
