A new Tomer Zvulun production of Turandot opens exactly 100 years after its premiere! This opera, with its lush musical tapestry and complex psychological layers, explores courage, identity, and love’s transformative power.
The story follows Prince Calaf’s obsessive quest to win the heart of the icy Princess Turandot, a woman whose cruelty masks a deeply troubled soul.
The Atlanta Opera will present TURANDOT and TWILIGHT OF THE GODS (GÖTTERDÄMMERUNG) to close its 2025–2026 season. The productions will feature international opera performers and new stagings.
Tenor Jonathan Burton will perform the role of Calaf in The Atlanta Opera's TURANDOT, replacing Piero Pretti, who withdrew due to illness. Performances run April 25, 27 and May 1, 3, 2026 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
THE ATLANTA OPERA will stage a new production of TURANDOT, featuring a reimagined ending, opening April 25 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The production marks the centennial of the opera's premiere.
