The big news from over the weekend is that a revival of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? is coming, starring Laurie Metcalf and Eddie Izzard! Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and also starring Russell Tovey and 2019 Olivier Award winner Patsy Ferran, the production will begin its strictly limited engagement on Monday, March 2, 2020, with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 9, 2020.

Wake Up With BWW 4/15: WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?, and More!

A new dramatic adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic novel, Les Misérables, stars Golden Globe® nominees Dominic West as Jean Valjean, David Oyelowo as Javert, and Lily Collins as Fantine. The six-part drama from MASTERPIECE brings to life vibrant characters, intricate storylines, and powerful themes in an epic retelling of the timeless story of redemption. Premieres Sunday, April 14 at 9/8c, on PBS.

The six-part drama adaptation stars Dominic West (The Affair, The Hour) as Jean Valjean, and David Oyelowo (Selma) as Javert in this landmark drama adaptation. They are joined in this epic event drama by Lily Collins (Rules Don't Apply, Love, Rosie), in the role of Fantine.

Producer Scott Rudin announced this morning that two-time Tony Award and three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf and two-time Emmy Award winner Eddie Izzard will star on Broadway next season in Edward Albee's drama Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and also starring Russell Tovey and 2019 Olivier Award winner Patsy Ferran, the production will begin its strictly limited engagement on Monday, March 2, 2020, with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 9, 2020.


What we're watching: Watch Richard Ridge's Interview with Broadway Power Couple Orfeh & Andy Karl

Love is all around at the Nederlander Theatre and it doesn't stop backstage... at least not when Broadway's favorite power couple is around. Orfeh and Andy Karl have moved to Rodeo Drive (or 41st Street) as Kit and Edward in Broadway's Pretty Woman.


And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Caissie Levy, who turns 38 today!

Levy is currently starring on Broadway as Elsa in Frozen. Other credits: Broadway: Fantine in the 2014 revival of Les Miserables; Molly in Ghost (and West End/cast album); Sheila in the 2009 revival of Hair (and West End/cast album); Elphaba in Wicked (and Los Angeles); Penny in Hairspray (and first national tour/Toronto). Off-Broadway: First Daughter Suite (The Public Theater/cast album); Sara in Murder Ballad; Maureen in Rent (national tour). She has performed solo internationally, including with Sir Rod Stewart in Las Vegas, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and recent Carnegie Hall debut with the NY Pops. Her solo album With You is available on iTunes.
