Barrington Stage Company has released rehearsal footage of DRIVING MISS DAISY, Alfred Uhry's beloved Pulitzer Prize-winning play, now running through June 21 in Pittsfield before transferring to Williamstown June 26 through July 5, in collaboration with Palm Beach Dramaworks.
Directed by Julianne Boyd, the production stars Debra Jo Rupp and Ray Anthony Thomas as Daisy, a Jewish widow in 1948 Georgia, and Hoke, her Black chauffeur, whose unexpected 25-year relationship built on mutual respect, understanding, and affection bridges the societal divides of their time.
Special events include a Deeper Look discussion on June 7 at 11 a.m. and an Aftershow on June 11. Pittsfield opening night is Saturday, May 30, with Williamstown opening night on Friday, June 26.
