Oscar-winner Marisa Tomei, Elizabeth Marvel and Anne Parisse will be the Three Sisters who long for Moscow in a star-studded staged reading of Anton Chekhov's The Three Sisters, which will be presented at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Bruno Walter Auditorium (111 Amsterdam Avenue, south of 65th Street) on May 22nd at 6 PM.

The reading will feature the adaptation written by Clifford Odets, the playwright whose Awake and Sing! is a Tony-nominated hit on Broadway and whose centennial birthday The Three Sisters will celebrate.

The reading will star Tomei (Oscar-winner for My Cousin Vinny, Salome, Wait Until Dark on Broadway) as Masha, Marvel (Seascape, An American Daughter) as Olga, and Parisse ("Law and Order") as Irina, as well as Tony-nominee Ben Shenkman (Sight Unseen, Proof) as Tuzenbach, Campbell Scott (Ah, Wilderness, Long Day's Journey Into Night) as Vershinin, Steven Skybell (The Full Monty, Wicked in Chicago) as Solyony, Brian Murray (The Rivals, Uncle Vanya) as Chebutykin, Chris Messina (Salome) as Andrey, Meredith Zinner as Natasha, Kristin Linklater (Into the Woods) as Anfisa, Luke Robertson as Fedotik, and Jeffrey Glaser as Rode. Richard Topol and Peter Kybart, both of whom are featured in Awake and Sing!, will play Kulygin and Ferapont, respectively. Lawrence Sacharow will direct the Three Sisters reading.

The unpublished translation by Odets--whose other plays include Waiting for Lefty and The Country Wife--has never been performed. The manuscript resides in the Clifford Odets Papers, Billy Rose Theatre Collection, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.
