An appearance by Tony Award winner Barbara Cook has been cancelled for 11/13. Ms. Cook was originally scheduled to appear at the Lincoln Square Barnes and Noble, but the event has been delayed. According to a spokesperson, Ms. Cook is suffering a bad cold and the event will be rescheduled for January.

Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder, which was released this week by DRG Records, is the singer's 14th release by the label.  The recording features performances of songs by such theatre mainstays as Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers & Hart and Leonard Bernstein, as well as songs by Ray Charles, John Bucchino and Peter Allen.

Barbara Cook's silvery soprano, purity of tone and warm presence have delighted audiences around the world for more than 50 years. A Broadway star during the American Musical's heyday, she launched a second career as a concert and recording artist in 1975, soaring ever since from one professional peak to another. Last year she celebrated her 80th birthday with three sold-out concerts at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic and in June made her debut with London's English National Ballet as the vocalist for the company's new program of works set to the music of George Gershwin
