Tickets for Lin-Manuel Miranda's Final HAMILTON Performance Going for $12,000

As BWW reported last week, HAMILTON star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will reportedly depart his hit show on July 9, 2016. (the date has yet to be confirmed by the production) According to USA Today, if you'd like to be in the room where it happens when the Tony nominated star says farewell to the hip hop musical, it's going to cost you!

The site reports that on Stubhub, tickets for the July 9th matinee performance range from $1,100 to $5,000. Tickets to the 8 pm evening performance on that same day currently range from $2,000 to $11,999 for an Orchestra sideview seat, (being sold in pairs only!)

While Miranda's replacement has not yet been officially announced, last month Heatstreet reported that it would be his current alternate, Javier Muñoz, who steps in for Miranda on Sunday matinees. Miranda is leaving the show to begin work on new projects, which include starring alongside Emily Blunt in Disney's Mary Poppins Returns.

Miranda's Broadway credits include: Composer/Lyricist/Usnavi of In the Heights(four Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score, Grammy Award, Pulitzer Prize finalist), Bring It On: The Musical (co-composer/co-lyricist, Tony nomination for Best Musical), West Side Story(2009 revival, Spanish translations).
