As a show intrinsically about politics, HAMILTON is a fitting Broadway show for America's presidential campaign season which is consuming our country.

The New Yorker suggests that in light of this, America's presidential candidates should listen to the newly released cast recording about "The $10 founding father without a father." Writer Rebecca Mead breaks down how characters in HAMILTON are relevant to today's politicians and that because of these similarities, they should really check out the show.

"In the person of Aaron Burr, the show poses the dilemma of the political aristocrat," Mead writes. "Belonging to the Colonial cultural élite by birthright, Burr, as incarnated by the silky Leslie Odom, Jr., is constantly balancing the desire to serve his own ambition with the pressure to honor his legacy." Because of this "legacy" idea, Mead suggests that Jeb Bush can relate to Burr.

"Burr's dilemma might be a familiar one for Jeb Bush, the former governor of Florida. As the son and brother of former presidents, Bush is this season's preëminent legacy candidate-albeit one whose parents are still around."

While President Barack Obama has seen HAMILTON on Broadway, Hillary Clinton is the only presidential candidate to attend the show so far.

Mead goes on to also compare Burr's noncommittal position on polticial issues to former candidate Scott Walker, citing Walker's fundraising issues as a parallel.
