The New York Virtuoso Singers to Perform World Premieres By Special Music High School Composers

The New York Virtuoso Singers, Harold Rosenbaum, Conductor and Artistic Director, will present World Premieres by Special Music High School composers on Thursday, February 12 at 1 PM at Kaufman Music Center's Merkin Hall.

They will present new choral works by young composers from Special Music School, including Alexander Azatyan-Rosenblatt, Alexei Jourin, Amalia Shapira, Amil Abumrad, Daniel Ruo Chen, Dorian Tabb, Max Bissonnette, Nathaniel Mullodzhanov, Olive Welles, Skye Vescovi and Teal Meyers.

This is part of a series of programs highlighting performers and educators alongside Kaufman Music Center students from their Special Music School.

Founded in 1988 by conductor Harold Rosenbaum, The New York Virtuoso Singers is one of this country's leading exponent of contemporary choral music. Although the chorus performs music of all periods, its emphasis is on commissioning, performing and recording the music of living American composers. The choir appears on nearly 50 commercial CDs.
