Terese Genecco and her eight-piece "Little Big Band" continue their unbroken run of monthly shows at The Iridium, 1650 Broadway, on Tuesday February 21 (shows at 8pm & 10pm, special guest vocalist Paul Safy, Jr.). Then on Tuesday March 20, the award-winning singer and bandleader releases a new CD, "Live From Iridium!" as she and her sidemen celebrate three years and counting in another two-show musical detonation (8pm & 10pm). The monthly fireworks displays, that give the LED-soaked Times Square a cocktail incandescence, will continue through the end of the year.

About the performance: "Filled with some of the city's most respected jazz and Broadway players, Genecco's high octane octet makes a b-line from the swing era to the rat-packing 60's. As Genecco likes to quip about her hard-driving, up-tempo shows, "there's a two-drink minimum and a two-ballad maximum." Among Genecco's high-flying wingmen are Barry Levitt on piano, Sean Harkness on guitar, Tom Hubbard on bass, and Ray Marchica on drums. The Wall Street Journal's Will Friedwald has said that Genecco "and her three horns and five rhythm put on an unstoppable juggernaut of a set.""

A two-time MAC Award winner (for Best Recording in 2008, and Best Female Vocalist in 2009) Genecco also was a 2010 MAC Award nominee in the Major Artist category. Her acclaimed tribute to nightclub entertainer Frances Faye, "Drunk With Love" caused her to defect from San Francisco to New York. Her "Drunk with Love: The Sequel" played at The Metropolitan Room.

Beginning in February 2008, she returned to San Francisco's Rrazz Room for a year of late-night Saturday dates, culminating in a memorable blowout in January 2009 that featured special guest star Lea DeLaria. Her most recent show, a tribute to the composer/arranger Russell Garcia, toured internationally with co-star Shaynee Rainbolt. Since March of '09, Genecco and her Little Big Band have clocked over 70 performances at The Iridium, produced by ScoBar Entertainment. The new album – "Terese Genecco and Her Little Big Band: Live From Iridium!" which releases on March 20, will be available on CD Baby, Amazon, iTunes, and other online music retailers.

Terese Genecco lights up Times Square with her eight-piece "Little Big Band" at The Iridium, 1650 Broadway (at 51st Street), on the third or fourth Tuesday of the month for the foreseeable future. On Tuesday February 21 at 8pm and 10pm, Genecco welcomes NBC's America's Got Talent finalist Paul Safy Jr. On Tuesday March 20 at 8pm and 10pm, Genecco marks the third anniversary of this extended run with the CD release of her latest album. The music charge is $25 with a $10 food and drink minimum. For reservations call 212/582-2121.
