THE PURPOSE FOR PINK: Karen Clark-Sheard & Jekalyn Carr Coming To Ovens Auditorium 10/11 Ovens Auditorium will host The Purpose for Pink: Karen Clark-Sheard & Jekalyn Carr on Thursday, October 11 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday, May 5 at 10 p.m. and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000, at all Ticketmaster outlets or at the Bojangles' Coliseum Box Office located at 2700 E. Independence Blvd. Tickets cost between $41 and $91 for regular admission (plus applicable service charges) and are subject to change.

Presale promotion includes $5 off all price levels when purchased between May 4 at 10 a.m. and May 5 at 10 p.m. (no promo code required). This event will feature performance by gospel legend Dr. Karen Clark-Sheard, a a four-time Grammy recipient who has vocally influenced musical artists among the ranks of Beyoncé and Mariah Carey. Clark-Sheard helped bring gospel into mainstream media as a member of The Clark Sisters and remains one of gospel's leading ladies thanks to her supremely soulful voice, incredible range and uplifting performances.

Clark-Sheard will be accompanied by Grammy nominated gospel recording artist Jekalyn Carr. Carr's single "You Will Win" and album "One Nation Under God" appeared as No. 1 on the Gospel Billboards. Additionally, Charlotte's own contemporary gospel artist LeJuene Thompson will take the stage. This event will be hosted by nationally renowned radio personality, Fly Ty, and best-selling author of "Uniquely Qualified" Jacinda Jacobs. The Purpose for Pink will raise funds in support of the mission of Susan G. Komen foundation of Charlotte and bring awareness and support of those who are affected by breast cancer.
