A new musical based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas and the enduring French legend, The Man in the Iron Mask, will receive a private industry workshop and table reading in Manhattan on July 18.
The new original musical written by Austin Cappetta. features a cast of NYC stage veterans with credits spanning Off-Broadway and national tours.
The story follows a forgotten prisoner named Philippe, whose face is concealed behind a grievous iron mask. When the aging Three Musketeers uncover that he is the secret twin of Louis XIV, they risk everything on a desperate, bloodless gamble: to replace the tyrant king with the brother he has condemned to darkness.
