THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE by Rebecca Dzida shows us that teachers are just like actors ... the show must go on! All Miss C wants to do is teach, but situations outside the classroom keep getting in her way. The audience is the class!

Featured in the cast are Emily Cerwonka as Miss C and Matt Blanchard as the voice of Principal Fulmer. The show is directed by Carl Randolph Boles.

The Greatest Performance was originally produced at The Catholic University of America as a class project, where the cast and crew attend as drama students. The show was inspired by the playwright's own experience teaching at an inner-city high school in Memphis, TN. Post-show drinks and discussion will be hosted at The Houndstooth Pub located at 520 8th Ave just across the street from the theatre after each show.

While the skyline currently glitters with theatre festivals, there was a time when the Midtown International Theatre Festival was one of only two! John Chatterton has helped set the gold standard for presenting new and exciting independent theatrical works in New York. This year - with a booming variety section, a prominently-placed Short Play Lab, a burgeoning Short Film Lab, nearly 60 productions - with a record number of musical presentations (including an opera) - as well as an astounding number of international works, the 17th Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival once again proves itself to be one of the best reasons to stay in New York in July!
