On April 28, Symphony Space will host its spring gala, Fiddler at 50, to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Fiddler on the Roof. The evening will honor Sheldon Harnick, the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning lyricist behind the iconic musical. Symphony Space's Gala is co-chaired by Lenore Davis and Amy Wilson. Honorary co-chairs for the evening are Mary Rodgers Guettel, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Harold Prince, and Stephen Sondheim.

Gala tickets are still available for $1,000, as well as a very limited number of $150 Cocktail and Show Only tickets. Tickets may be purchased by visiting symphonyspace.org/gala, or by calling Mac Ingram at (212) 864.1414 x229.

The evening will be hosted by BD Wong. Performers include Kate Baldwin, Christina Bianco, Stephanie J. Block, Len Cariou, La Tanya Hall, Clint Holmes, Tovah Feldshuh, Linda Lavin, Megan McGinnis, Trevor McQueen, Jane Monheit, Christine Pedi, Andrew Rannells, Tori Scott and Leslie Uggams. Violinist Christian Hebel will be performing the role of The Fiddler. A special presentation to Mr. Harnick will be made by Lynn Ahrens. Please note that artists are subject to change. The concert performance of Fiddler at 50 will be produced and directed by Jim Caruso and John McDaniel. The previously announced Joanna Gleason will not be performing.

Also expected in attendance are Joanna Merlin, who originated the role of Tzeitel on Broadway, as well as Jenny Lyn Bader, Barbara Barrie, Carmen de Lavallade, Fyvush Finkel, Adam Gopnik, Daniel Gortler, Rachael Harris, Holly Hunter, Chip Kidd, Tania León, Sonia Manzano, Michael Mayer, J.D. McClatchy, Kaneza Schaal, Matthew Sklar, Jonathan Tolins, and Calvin Trillin.

Symphony Space's Fiddler at 50 Gala will take place at Capitale, located at 130 Bowery on the Lower East Side. The evening will commence with cocktails and a silent auction at 6:30pm, followed by the show and dinner at 7:30pm. The event will also feature a display of sketches and an original set model from the 1964 original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof, on loan from the family of set designer Boris Aronson and Lisa Jalowetz. Additionally, an Al Hirschfeld etching of Zero Mostel as Tevye will be on view, and auctioned off, courtesy of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation. The silent auction will also feature unique experiences with Symphony Space artists and friends including Alec Baldwin, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Neil Gaiman, John Lithgow, Leonard Nimoy, Estelle Parsons, Adam Platt, Karen Russell, and Gary Shteyngart.

The annual Symphony Space Gala attracts arts patrons, industry leaders, and a diverse array of artists from Symphony Space's multidisciplinary programs.
