Patrick Wilson, the stage and screen star who received back-to-back Tony nominations in 2001's THE FULL MONTY followed by 2002's revival of OKLAHOMA, may soon be seen regularly on the small screen: the 37-year-old has been tapped to appear in an untitled series pilot for CBS.

The series is the brainchild of Susannah Grant, who is perhaps best known for her Oscar-nominated screenplay for the 2001 film Erin Brokovich. Deadline.com reports that Wilson will play a very competitive surgeon whose live is altered when his ex-wife dies.

Wilson's most recent Broadway appearance was in ALL MY SONS in 2008. He has also received an Emmy and Golden Globe nomination for HBO's adaptation of ANGELS IN AMERICA and also starred in the film adaptation of WATCHMEN in addition to having a lengthy list of film credits to his name.

The show, directed by Jonathan Demme ("The Silence of the Lambs"), will tape in New York as per Wilson's requirements for taking the part; no further information or casting is available at this time.
