On July 22nd, Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy star and co-writer Alana McNair was hurt in a freak accident onstage, but managed to avoid serious injury.

"On Friday night, in the climactic battle between Glenn Close, played by Alana McNair, and everyone else, she goes through a window.  It is Plexiglas, and is designed to be safe, but on this night a freak accident happened where one of the panes ricocheted off the top of the window frame and came back and hit her on the head.  Her face filled with blood quickly at the same moment that the character was to meet her demise.  Mr. Feldman, who does the killing, noticed the blood and immediately stopped the show.

The audience thought that it was part of the production, laughed and waited for it to go on.  After the cast left the stage with Alana in tow the stage manager came on and explained that it was not part of the theatrics, that it was real and that she was going to the hospital.  The audience was very concerned and hung around for awhile to make sure she was okay.  It looked worse than it was; she got fixed up and was right back to kicking butt the very next night!" as a press article describes the accident.

Feldman (Goonies, The Lost Boys) and McNair currently star in a Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy at the East 13th St. Theatre.  The show began previews on July 1st and opened on July 10th; its limited run will play through August 27th.

Written by McNair and Kate Wilkinson, the play is directed by Timothy Haskell and clocks in at just over an hour.  Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy is a spoofy homage to the 1987 Oscar-nominated film that starred Glenn Close as the obsessive, spurned lover of Michael Douglas, whose role is taken up by Feldman in the play.

Kellie Arens, Nick Arens, Ebony Cross, Aaron Haskell, Sergio Lobito, McNair and Wilkinson will also appear in the show with Rebeca Ramirez handling the dance choreography, Rod Kinter the fight choreography, Wendy Yang the costume design, Tyler Micoleau the lighting, Paul Smithyman the sets, Faye Armon the props, with Vincent Olivieri responsible for the sound design.

The East 13th Street Theatre is located at 136 East 13th Street between Third and Fourth Avenues, just southeast of Union Square.

Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy's performance schedule is Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM, with additional performances Fridays and Saturdays at 10:30 PM and Sundays at 6 PM. Tickets, which are $40 and $49.50, are available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketcentral.com.
