Lurleen Ladd to Make NYC Debut at Flute Bar Midtown in June
The Austin-based singer-songwriter will perform RECLAMATION tracks alongside producer Eddy Hobizal at the intimate Midtown venue.
Austin-based singer/songwriter Lurleen Ladd makes her New York City debut on Friday, June 5, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Flute Bar & Lounge in the heart of Manhattan. The intimate performance will also mark the live premiere of songs from her forthcoming fourth album, Reclamation - a bold, deeply personal reimagining of iconic '80s hits by artists including Bruce Springsteen, Rick Springfield, John Mellencamp, Dire Straits, Pat Benatar, and Robert Palmer.
Joining Lurleen is award-winning pianist and Reclamation producer Eddy Hobizal, whose acclaimed career includes performances and recordings with Christopher Cross, Sara Hickman, and Shawn Colvin, along with producing celebrated albums featuring artists such as Patty Griffin, Lloyd Maines, and former Ray Charles music director Dr. James Polk.
More than a tribute album, Reclamation is Ladd's fearless artistic reinvention of the music that shaped her youth and first sparked her dreams of a life in music. Through fresh interpretations and emotional depth, she revisits the soundtrack of the '80s while reclaiming the ambition, spirit, and unfinished dreams those songs once inspired.
After a successful 20-year career in social work and healthcare, Ladd fully committed to her lifelong passion for music, launching her artistic career in her 40s. Confronting the barriers faced by women over 40 in the music industry inspired her to found Wavemakers Women and Music, a global community and platform dedicated to empowering and elevating women musicians over 40.

Austin-based singer/songwriter Lurleen Ladd came to music later in life after decades spent building a successful healthcare career and co-founding multiple philanthropic ventures, including The Shade Project. Though songwriting remained a lifelong passion, it wasn't until her late 30s that she fully stepped into performing and pursuing music professionally.
Now, with three albums released and a fourth - Reclamation - arriving in late Summer 2026, Lurleen is embracing the dreams she once set aside. The album reimagines iconic '80s hits by artists including Rick Springfield, John Mellencamp, Dire Straits, and Pat Benatar, reflecting themes of reinvention, courage, and creative renewal. She is also the founder of Wavemakers, a growing community and platform empowering women musicians over 40 across the U.S. and abroad.
