The acclaimed off-Broadway production of Lysistrata Jones will transfer to Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre this fall, with previews beginning November 12, 2011 and opening night scheduled December 14, 2011.

According to the New York Times, the actors from the show will take part ina  basketball camp by basketball star Chris Mullin to make them more prepared for the big Broadway opening. Mullin told the NYT:  "I thought it'd be fun to get involved and see what I could do to polish up the playing, make it look more authentic and sharpen the choreography for Broadway. I also have great respect for theater. When I was at St. John's, my coaches would refer to Broadway dancers and performers and talk about how they would practice and practice and practice. I always remembered that."

Lysistrata Jones will star Patti Murin (Lysistrata Jones), Liz Mikel (Hetaira), Josh Segarra (Mick), Jason Tam (Xander), and Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Robin) with Alexander Aguilar (Uardo), Ato Blankson-Wood (Tyllus), Katie Boren (Lampito), Kat Nejat (Cleonice), LaQuet Sharnell (Mhyrinne), Teddy Toye (Harold) and Alex Wyse (Cinesius).

Lysistrata Jones is written by Tony nominated bookwriter Douglas Carter Beane (Sister Act, Xanadu, The Little Dog Laughed) and composer/lyricist Lewis Flinn (The Divine Sister), and is directed and choreographed by Tony nominee Dan Knechtges (Xanadu, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee).

The Athens University basketball team hasn't won a game in 30 years. But when spunky transfer student Lysistrata Jones (Patti Murrin) dares the squad's fed-up girlfriends to stop ‘giving it up' to their boyfriends until they win a game, their legendary losing streak could be coming to an end. In this boisterous new musical comedy, Lyssie J. and her girl-power posse give Aristophanes' classic comedy a sexy, modern twist and take student activism to a whole new level.

Tickets for Lysistrata Jones range from $25 to $127.50, and can be purchased on www.Telecharge.com or by calling (800) 432-7250. For more information, visit www.LysistrataJones.com.
