LACE AND LEE to Open FIVE FOR FIGHTING String Quartet Tour Sept 19
Duo recorded their debut EP with Grammy-winning producer Mikal Blue at Revolver Recordings in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Lace and Lee — the duo of Olivia Lee Ondrasik and Caroline Lace McPherson — will release their debut EP, Mirror Mirror, on November 27. On their debut EP, Lace and Lee weave ethereal vocals and mystical folk storytelling into something genuinely their own, their haunting harmonies pairing with sharp, evocative songwriting.
The duo recorded their EP with Grammy-Award winning, multi-platinum selling music producer, songwriter, engineer and mixer Mikal Blue, best known for his work with OneRepublic, Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz and Alex Lebowitz (Macy Gray, Shawn Stockman, Extreme) at Revolver Recordings in Thousand Oaks, CA.
'It's a pinch-me moment for sure,' says the duo of releasing their music and working with Mikal Blue. 'Our friendship and love for this music is the heart and soul of Mirror Mirror - it's a passion project, a prayer, a love letter to friendship, and most importantly, it's just the beginning of our journey as musical artists. Mikal is a rare breed. Not only is he a mad genius when it comes to music, he is one of the kindest collaborators we've ever had the privilege to work with. He is insanely talented in his own right and has the magic touch to make any song feel like it has always existed.'
They will release the infectious rollicking 'RoadKill' on September 12, a song the duo wrote on tour, on the road exhausted but exhilarated, carsick but inspired by a dead deer by the side of the road. Lace and Lee have released five songs since the start of the year, each pairing their beautiful voices with guitars, cellos, violins, mandolin, keyboards, drums, and piano into a sound that shifts with the story: 'Oh, What a Weapon' (January 30), the tale of a Bard, a King, and his weapons; 'Olivia's Song' (April 3), about dreaming of escaping the chaos of real life; 'Top Dog' (May 15), an ode to narcissists; 'Penn Station Strawberries' (June 19), about buying strawberries in the bowels of a Penn Station Walgreens; and 'Dream' (July 31), an imagined conversation with a future self, dropping wisdom about growing up.
Lace and Lee met while studying musical theater at NYU Tisch and upon graduating from the New Studio on Broadway in 2024 and armed with their shared fervor for songwriting and profound friendship, Lace and Lee was born. They opened for Grammy nominated, platinum-selling artist, Five For Fighting (aka John Ondrasik) and his ever popular Five For Fighting String Quartet Tour in the Fall of that year and in the spring and fall of 2025. In Summer 2025 they performed for Prodject, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and headlined at The Strand, Watertown NY. They can now be seen live at venues throughout Los Angeles, including Hotel Cafe, The Mint, and The White Harte Pub. They will join Five For Fighting String Quartet Tour again in 2026 into 2027.
