The Laurie Beechman Theatre will continue The After Party, an "informal social gathering for the theatrically inclined". Every Friday from 10:30 PM until 2 AM, hosts Brandon Cutrell and Alysha Umphress, as well as Ray Fellman on piano, assembles for this weekly party in the heart of Manhattan's theatre district.

There is no cover charge and no minimum. Open mic all night for singers. Songs must be from a musical. Those who just love listening to showtunes but not singing them, can relax and enjoy cocktails with friends.

This Friday, October 20th, Drama Desk nominee Leslie Kritzer will be the evening's special guest. Cast members from the upcoming Falsettoland benefit, including Colin Hanlon and Michael Hunsaker, are also set to appear.

Leslie Kritzer was most recently seen by New York audiences at Joe's Pub in her one-woman show, Leslie Kritzer is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches. She received a Drama Desk nominated for playing Pickles in Off-Broadway's The Great American Trailer Park Musical, and received much acclaim for her portryal of Fanny Brice in the Paper Mill production of Funny Girl. She will return to Broadway this spring in Legally Blonde.

Colin Hanlon was most recently seen in the Off-Broadway production of I Love You Because, just released on CD. He has also appeared in the Broadway company of Rent.

Michael Hunsaker is currently appearing in My Deah with Nancy Opel and Bryan Batt at Abingdon Theatre Company. Other credits include Listen to My Heart: The Music of David Friedman and the national tours of Ragtime and Chess.

The evening will celebrate the music of William Finn. Prizes will be presented to the evening's best performances of Bill Finn's music; so dust off those CD's of Falsettos, In Trousers, Spelling Bee, Elegies, A New Brain…, etc.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located downstairs within The West Bank Café at 407 West 42nd Street at 9th Avenue. There is a full bar and bar menu available. Reservations are not necessary for this event.
