Kelli Maldonado Receives Nancy Roucher Arts Education Award

The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is proud to announce Kelli Maldonado's acceptance of the Nancy Roucher Arts Education Award on Monday, October 22 at the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota's annual Celebration of the Arts. Kelli has been the Director of Education and Community Engagement at the Van Wezel for the past six years.

Just this calendar year, Kelli and her team have presented over 130 workshops and classroom lessons at the Van Wezel or in schools throughout the community. Both her Schooltime Performances Program and her Art Works Initiative make the arts accessible to over 30,000 teachers and students every year.

In recognition of her Arts Leadership Award for her continued dedication to Arts Education, a donation of $3,500 was made by Audrey Robbins and Harry Leopold in Kelli Maldonado's name towards the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota's new Arts Education Endowment Fund. It was the first donation made to the fund.
