How STRANGE NEW WORLDS Built Its First-Ever Puppet Episode
Jim Henson's Creature Shop crafted custom versions of the Enterprise crew for the milestone episode.
Paramount+ has posted a behind-the-scenes look at how STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS built its first puppet episode, pulling back the curtain on the making of 'Level-Five Transporter Accident!' The featurette details how Jim Henson's Creature Shop designed custom puppet versions of the Enterprise crew for the Season 4 installment, a departure for a series that has largely stuck to live-action storytelling.
The video walks through the design process behind translating familiar Starfleet characters into puppet form, giving fans a look at the craftsmanship involved in reimagining the Enterprise crew for a single, unconventional episode. The featurette focuses squarely on the technical and creative work of the Creature Shop rather than on any single cast member's account of the shoot.
Fans curious about the show's other Season 4 turns can revisit a recent scene featuring Number One, M'Benga, and Uhura navigating a Klingon-occupied planet, part of the same season's run on Paramount+.
