Gulfshore Playhouse Presents THE MYSTERY OF IRMA VEP

Gulfshore Playhouse, Naples' premiere professional regional theater, presents "The Mystery of Irma Vep," a Penny Dreadful by Charles Ludlam, Saturday, April 28 through Sunday, May 20.

Lunacy meets laughter in this tour-de-force performance where two actors transform from master to French maid, victim to villain, and living to "undead" at breakneck speed. Blending the best of Alfred Hitchcock, gothic melodrama and monster movies, "The Mystery of Irma Vep" is a gender-bending hilarious horror spoof.

"The Mystery of Irma Vep" stars Gulfshore Playhouse favorites Scott Greer and Jeffrey Binder playing all the roles in this quick-change marathon.

Greer last appeared in "Art" and "God of Carnage" at Gulfshore Playhouse. He is a 25-year veteran of Philadelphia theater, and has worked for 1812, the Arden, Walnut, InterAct, PTC, Wilma, Peoples Light, Theater Exile, Lantern Theater Company and many more. Regionally, he has worked for Actors Theater of Louisville, Round House, Cape May Stage, and the Pearl Theater in New York. He has won five Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theater, including the prestigious F. Otto Haas Award for an Emerging Theater Artist. Greer was named 2014's "Best Theater Talent" by Philadelphia Magazine.

Binder has appeared in Gulfshore Playhouse productions including "Merchant of Venice," "Hound of the Baskervilles," "My Fair Lady," "An Enemy of the People," "Boeing, Boeing," and "The God Game." A 15-year Broadway veteran, his New York credits include 10 years as Zazu in "The Lion King" and George Banks in the hit musical "Mary Poppins," both performed at the New Amsterdam Theater on 42nd Street, "The Lieutenant of Innishmore," and "Sideman." Binder also serves as Gulfshore Playhouse's associate artistic director.

"The Mystery of Irma Vep" is directed by Gulfshore Playhouse's Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Kristen Coury. Production staff includes Assistant Director Cory Dunn; Costume Designer Robin McGee; Lighting Designer Jimmy Lawlor; Scenic Designer David L. Arsenault.; and Sound Designer John Kiselica.
