This production marks the 30th year anniversary of the play, which David Mamet wrote in 1982. It premiered in the 1983-1984 season at the Royal National Theatre in London. That same year, it made its American debut at Chicago’s Goodman Theatre before moving to Broadway’s Golden Theatre where it ran for a total of 378 performances.

The stakes are high at a fly by night Chicago real estate office: 1st prize- a new Cadillac, 2nd prize- a set of steak knives, 3rd prize- you’re fired! GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS slices to the core of the American dream and exposes the depths people will go to stay on top of the game. Mamet himself worked in a real estate office in Chicago in 1969 setting up appointments for salesmen, and the play is influenced by the cutthroat politics he encountered.

GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS will have set design by Tony Award winner Eugene Lee (A Streetcar Named Desire, The Homecoming, Wicked), costume design by Tony Award winner Jess Goldstein (Newsies, The Rivals, The Merchant of Venice) and lighting design by James F. Ingalls (The People in the Picture, The Elephant Man, ‘night Mother).

GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS will be produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, JAM Theatricals, Luigi & Rose Caiola, Gutterman/Chernoff, Amy & Phil Mickelson, Patty Baker, Mark S. Golub & David S. Golub, Ken Greiner, Meg Herman, Kathleen K. Johnson, Stephanie McClelland, Harvey Weinstein, James Fuld Jr./Kirmser Ponturo Fund, Kit Seidel/Myla Lerner, Will Trice, and GFOUR Productions. Richards and Frankel will be producing the new David Mamet play, The Anarchist this fall on Broadway.
