Eric Sciotto Will Step in as Shakespeare in SOMETHING ROTTEN!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, SOMETHING ROTTEN!'s current cod-piece clad Shakespeare -- Will Chase -- will depart the show on October 9, and will be replaced temporarily by understudy Eric Sciotto. Sciotto will assume the role through October 23. A permanent replacement has not yet been announced.

Sciotto's Broadway credits include: Annie Get Your Gun, Aida, Sweet Smell of Success, Sweet Charity, 42nd Street, Cry-Baby, A Chorus Line, Pal Joey, Rock of Ages, Priscilla..., and ...Drood. Regional: A Chorus Line (Zach), Footloose (Ren), Pirates of Penzance (Frederic), Aida (Radames), and Seven Brides (Frank).

As previously announced, the 10-time Tony Award nominated hit musical comedy Something Rotten!, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), with music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award and Tony Award nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Tony Award nominees Karey Kirkpatrick and best-selling author John O'Farrell will conclude its critically acclaimed engagement on Broadway on January 1, 2017 following 742 performances. A first class US national tour will officially launch January 17, 2017 at The Boston Opera House.
