Arts and entertainment podcast (as the name indicates, programming for iPods) Green Room Radio is currently airing an interview with Tony-winner Christine Ebersole (42nd Street, Steel Magnolias); the star and pianist Billy Stritch will reprise their award-winning act at New York City's Birdland on July 18th, 2005 at 7 PM.

In the interview, Ebersole will sit down with host Erich Bergen to
discuss life in the entertainment world, how she creates a character, and the daily juggling of family life versus theatre life.

The Birdland performance will feature a number of songs from Ebersole's and Stritch's new CD In Your Dreams (Ghostlight Records), which is itself an encapsulation of an act that the two have performed around the country. The pair will sing such standards as "Fine and Dandy" and "Surrey with the Fringe on Top" (Ebersole starred in a 1979 revival of Oklahoma!) as well as new songs from Grey Gardens: A New Musical.

Grey Gardens, by librettist Doug Wright, composer Scott Frankel and lyricist Michael Korie, will premiere in the 2005-06 season of Playwrights Horizons. Inspired by the cult film documentary about relatives of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy living in a squalid Long Island mansion, the show will star Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson (Cabaret).

Green Room Radio was created in March 2005. "Armed with a microphone and a load of questions, Green Room Radio has a hand in all the different forays of show business...Upset at the way the media was covering respectable performers and artists, Green Room Radio creator Bergen set out to create a source where people could listen to an artist speak from their heart, not from a cue card. In just the first 5 months alone, Green Room Radio has talked to Tony Award winning composer Jason Robert Brown, Rolling Stone editor and author Greil Marcus, film director Dori Berinstein, and record executives Tommy Krasker and Kurt Deutch," states a press article.
