Christina Ricci to Make Broadway Debut in TIME STANDS STILL This Fall!

Christina Ricci will make her Broadway debut im TIME STANDS STILL, replacing Alicia Silverstone, when the show comes back to Broadway this fall.

Ricci rose to fame as the young star of films such as The Addams Family, Casper, and Mermaids. She went on to captivate critics and audiences in such films as the Academy Award-winning Monster, The Ice Storm and The Opposite of Sex, for which she received an award from the National Board of Review and a Golden Globe nomination.

In TIME STANDS STILL, Ricci joins previously announced original cast members Laura Linney, Brian d'Arcy James, and Eric Bogosian. The play is written by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies and is directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan.

TIME STANDS STILL, which last week received a Tony nomination for Best Play, will transfer this fall to Broadway to a Shubert theatre to be announced. The play, by Pulitzer Prize Winner Donald Margulies, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, will star acclaimed original cast members: Laura Linney, Brian D'Arcy James, and Eric Bogosian.

TIME STANDS STILL, which enjoyed an extended sold-out run at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre this spring, will resume performances Thursday, September 23, 2010. Tickets for the production will go on sale Monday, May 31, 2010. The production will be on hiatus until the fall to accommodate Linney's commitment to her new Showtime series "The Big C" which is now in production and will premiere Monday, August 16, 2010.

Transferring with the production will be original cast members: Laura Linney, Brian D'Arcy James, and Eric Bogosian.

When it opened this spring, TIME STANDS STILL was hailed by critics and quickly became Broadway's "hot ticket" (WOR Radio). The New York Times called the play "handily Margulies' finest play since the Pulitzer Prize winning Dinner With Friends" and USA Today said the production "soars."

Last week, the production was honored with two Tony Award nominations: Best Play, and Best Leading Actress in a Play (Laura Linney).

Alicia Silverstone, who created the role of ‘Mandy' on Broadway will not be able to continue with the production due to previously scheduled commitments.

Sarah and James, a photographer and a journalist (Laura Linney and Brian D'Arcy James), have been together for years and share a passion for documenting the realities of war. But when circumstances compel them to return home to New York and their circle of friends (Eric Bogosian) the adventurous couple confronts the prospect of a more conventional life.

The transfer of TIME STANDS STILL will be produced by Manhattan Theatre Club Productions, Inc. (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove Executive Producer), Nelle Nugent, Bud Martin, Ted Snowden, and Wendy Federman.

The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Rita Ryack (costume design), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design), Darron L West (sound design), Peter Golub (original music), and Thomas Schall (fight direction).

Tickets range from $56.50 - $121.50 with premiere seating available from $175 - $250 with standing room (when available) at $26.50. Tickets include a $1.50 facility fee.
