Chess will open on November 16, 2025 at the Imperial Theatre.
While the rest of Broadway is playing checkers, a real game of Chess is about to go on at the Imperial Theatre. The first-ever Broadway revival of Chess, starring Aaron Tveit, Lea Michele, and Nicholas Christopher, is getting ready to begin performances. What's it all about...?
A seductive showdown of love, loyalty, and power, Chess follows two of the world’s greatest Chess players competing for more than victory, as the woman caught between them becomes entangled in a high-stakes battle of desire and devotion.
Chistopher plays Anatoly. "He's the Russian chessmaster and he's reached the point in his life where all of his dreams are coming true," he explained, "but he still feels empty because he hasn't had the opportunity to be able to hone his own humanity, so he feels like a Chess machine. Florence unlocks the humanity in him."
Watch as the cast unpacks their roles and learn more about the revival.
