Prior to the return of Candice Guardino's hit show Italian Bred, Guardino will be participating in the CBS Diversity Showcase. Just a little over 20 actors and writers were selected from over 2,500 that auditioned, who in turn wrote and performed their own original material under the supervision of Director, Rick Najera.

The Showcase is produced by CBS Casting VP, Fern Orenstein who has been in charge of the Diversity Talent Showcase for CBS since 2002. Press Night is this Monday January 12th at 7pm and performances are January 19th - 22nd at the El Portal Theatre.

Following the showcase, Candice Guardino's hit show Italian Bred will perform on Tuesday February 3rd, 10th, and 17th at the Hudson Theatre. Italian Bred opens Tuesday February 3rd at 8pm.

Candice Guardino is also the co-host of Playing it Forward with Christina Fulton on TradioV, and will be giving away tickets for Italian Bred to a few lucky callers next Thursday January 15th between 1 - 2pm (PST).

Candice Guardino created a funny and heartwarming solo-show, sharing personal stories and singing iconic songs while impersonating various members of her family. The show includes virtual celebrity appearances from Mario Cantone (Sex & the City), Steve Schirripa (Sopranos), Emmy Award-winner Leslie Jordan, and Vic DiBitetto (Mall Cop). Much like the nostalgic scent of Sunday dinner, Italian Bred will remind audiences of their own unique upbringing and unforgettably humorous childhood memories. "Candice Guardino single-handedly proves you can make a one woman show funnier and smarter than almost anything on TV" says StageBuddy.com

Candice Guardino was born in Brooklyn, NY and earned her BA in Musical Theatre from Wagner College on Staten Island. During her career, she has written screenplays, dramas, sketch comedies, and sitcoms. Candice Guardino has appeared in Gypsy, West Side Story, Bye Bye Birdie, and Antigone. Candice has also performed at the Comedy Store in LA, as well as Gotham and the PIT in NYC. Candice Guardino is currently a comedy writer for the CBS Diversity Showcase, which premieres January 2015.

Italian Bred is directed by Donna Drake, with Musical Supervision by David Dabbon, Lighting Design by Jason Fassl, and Stage Management by Jen Bendik. For further show info, please visit www.candiceguardino.com or www.italianbredshow.com
