Burgess, Jones, Ryness to Lead Salvage Concert Reading

Bryce Ryness joins Tituss Burgess and Rebecca Naomi Jones for the industry concert reading of the new rock/r&b musical Salvage.

Zach Lezberg (Producer of Bi-Coastal ShowBiz Expo) will produce the reading, which will have concert presentations on Dec. 1 at New World Stages. Salvage has book and lyrics by Harris Doran and music by Arthur Lafrentz Bacon. Lisa Dozier will general manage, Matt Hinkley will musical direct, and Harris Doran will direct the reading.

Ryness (Hair, Rent, Legally Blonde), Burgess (Guys and Dolls, Little Mermaid, Jersey Boys), and Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange) lead a cast including Amy Coleman (The Last Session), Ben Curtis (The "Dell" Dude), Natalie Joy Johnson (Legally Blonde), Ramona Keller (Caroline, or Change, Brooklyn), Michael Winther (33 Variations), Romelda T. Benjamin (Brooklyn), Aaron Berk (Shockheaded Peter), Ryan Duncan (Shrek, Altar Boyz), Kevin Smith Kirkwood (Spelling Bee), Ian Scott McGregor, Kate Pazakis, Julie Reiber (Wicked), Megan Reinking (Hair), Jen Sese (Spelling Bee), Derrick Trumbly (Spelling Bee), and Juson Williams (The Wiz).

Salvage is a new rock/r&b musical which follows the story of Skyler Golden (Ryness), a found object artist, who wants "to see the world different... literally." While trying to transform a self-destructive thrift shop beauty (Jones), a rich kid who wants to make his own way (Burgess), and maneuver through an art world working to strip his integrity, Skyler must learn to transform his own life the way he does with his art and finally salvage himself.
