"One Day In The Life Of Daniel Radcliffe" book signed by author Tim Hailand

Donated by the author

Captured on January 13 2009, One Day in The Life of Daniel Radcliffe comprises 50 black and white and colour images of Radcliffe captured during his first experience of working in New York and on Broadway. Hailand's all-access, intimate One Day approach gives the reader unique insight into Radcliffe the person and the actor. Moments shot from waking up, rehearsing with his costars and through quiet time backstage show multiple sides of the acclaimed actor. Radcliffe tours the reader through this book in his own words with footnotes for each image

Tim Hailand is a photographic artist based in New York. For the last 10 years he has been focusing mainly on portraiture, photographing artists, athletes, performers, and designers. In 2008 Hailand exhibited in both Aspen and Berlin, showing works from his "Statues" and "Photos Re-photographed" series. In the "Statue" works, Hailand photographs inanimate statues in an intimate way, as if they were living people. In the "Photos re-photographed" works, he re-photographs his own portraits in new settings, creating an open ended narrative. With his first book, One Day in The Life of Daniel Radcliffe, he begins his publishing venture (with more titles in the series to be published in 2010).

Hailand's work is in the Permanent Collection of The Guggenheim Museum, The archives of New York's MoMA , as well as the Albright-Knox Museum. His work has appeared in Visionaire, The New Yorker, Paper, Playgirl, Frieze, Artforum, W, Time Out London, Dutch, HX, Next,Aspen and V magazines, and is in the private collections of Hilla Becher, Matthew Broderick & Sarah Jessica Parker, Pete Burns, Elton John, Chaka Khan, Patti LuPone, Isaac Mizrahi, Stevie Nicks, The Pet Shop Boys, Daniel Radcliffe, Jake Shears, Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman, Mario Testino, Rufus Wainwright, and Vivienne Westwood.
