Equity seeks to advance, promote and foster the art of live theatre as an essential component of our society. Equity negotiates wages and working conditions and provides a wide range of benefits, including health and pension plans, for its members.

"I got my Equity Card in a "Six-Degrees-of Kevin-Bacon" way. Kevin appeared in Joe Orton's LOOT at Manhattan Theatre Club and was unable to go to Broadway. So I auditioned for Joey Tillinger to work with Joe Maher, Zeljko Ivanek, Charlie Keating and Zoe Wannamaker. I got the job, my first Broadway show and my card."
