BOUNCE World Premiere To Conclude Strand Theater Company’s Season 18
New play by Somnia Mari Feral will run in Baltimore as part of “In Her Entirety” season.
Strand Theater Company will present the world premiere of BOUNCE to conclude its 18th season, titled In Her Entirety. The production is written by Somnia Mari Feral and directed by Artistic Director Alma Davenport.
BOUNCE will run May 29 through June 14, 2026 at the Strand Theater in Baltimore.
The play follows a young single mother who returns to her childhood church after a stay in a mental health facility. Seeking stability, she enters a marriage with a recently widowed pastor, only to discover that the expectations of her new role conceal deeper tensions. As her circumstances shift, she confronts questions of control, identity, and personal agency.
“Producing the world premiere of BOUNCE at the Strand is about giving a platform to an emerging playwright brave enough to tell the truth,” said Davenport. “With this piece, Somnia Mari Feral generously shares a slice of her own life, and I was immediately drawn to her lack of pretense. I love the nerve this script has to find humor in dark, painful situations. It is a grounded reminder that one of the most radical things we can do is shed our masks and come as we are.”
CAST
The cast features Jessica Addock, Kayah Calhoun, Yasmeen Mahdi, Jose Rufino, Bre Starr, and Brent Warren.

CONTENT ADVISORY
Please be advised that BOUNCE contains mature themes and depictions that may be sensitive for some viewers. These include manipulation and “gaslighting” within a religious context, intense verbal arguments and mention of domestic violence, discussions of STDs and complications during pregnancy, the use of profanity and derogatory slurs, and themes of suppressed sexual identity and religious trauma.
